Galleries
The Arts Center opened in 2013. It is 9,300 square ft, and includes a 1,000 square ft Black Box Theater; Vivid Solutions Gallery. space for five galleries/boutiques; a short term exhibition gallery called Blank Space SE, a café, and an 800 square ft lounge area.

Congress Heights Arts and Culture Center (CHACC), was established to explore arts and culture of people of the African Diaspora (descendants of people from Africa), specifically, communities of African Americans, residing East of the Anacostia River. CHACC’s purpose is to develop and expand cultural and artistic opportunities for residents, beginning in Ward 8 and expanding to Ward 7. One of the most urgent needs and highest priorities of CHACC is to weave children and youth into the fabric of the economic revitalization occurring in communities in Wards 7 and 8.

Founded in 2007, Honfleur Gallery is a contemporary art space located in the historic Anacostia. Honfleur maintains a rigorous schedule of exhibitions and programming that focuses on cutting edge contemporary exhibitions by living artists from the USA and abroad. It is also producer of the Annual East of the River exhibition celebrating artists that live, work of have roots in DC’s Wards 7 & 8.

IBe’ Arts is a small, intimate fine art gallery. The gallery has a collecton of African-American made marble sculpture, ceramics, collage, textile, and book arts. An education resource center is on the second floor, which includes conference and office spaces.

Contemporary Neon Artist Craig Kraft’s studio is home to an impressive amount of neon sculpture and a working neon studio. It also hosts a number workshops and classes.

In the last year, Vivid has changed its focus from being primarily a place to show photography to one where experimentation and creativity in approach is foremost.
